Commercial Insurance

Insurance for your business, be it general liability, workers compensation, commercial auto, a business owners policy, boiler and machinery insurance, equipment (inland marine) coverage, builder’s risk insurance, business interruption, crime or the many other coverages to protect your business.

Non-profits have many of the same needs as other commercial enterprises. We have companies that specialize in programs for non-profits.

General Liability

This is what most people think of as “Business Insurance” and it provides coverage to protect your business from bodily injury claims, property damages, and advertising claims. General liability insurance may also be known as Commercial General Liability (CGL) and may be stand alone, be included in a standard package or in a Business Owners Policy (BOP).The General Liability coverage is often necessary to conform with your landlord’s lease requirements.

Commercial Automobile Insurance

This provides coverages for the vehicle you use in or is owned / leased by your business. It can also provide coverage for Non-owned, Hired and Borrowed Vehicles as well. Available are Liability, Medical Payments, Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist, Collision, Comprehensive, etc. A careful review of your exposures is a very good idea.

Inland Marine Insurance

Historically, ocean marine insurance indemnified the purchaser for losses before, during, and after the completion of a voyage. This was to help spread the risk so that no single individual would be devastated if the cargo was “lost”. After the cargo reached port and was transferred from the ship to another conveyance coverage was needed and the term “inland marine” was coined. Inland marine policies became known as “floaters” since the property to which coverage was originally extended was essentially “floating.” Coverages under this classification can be as diverse as Valuable Papers, Jewelry, Miscellaneous Rented Equipment, Fine Art etc. We have used floaters to cover a one ton jade boulder for a show in Tokyo, for a touring exhibition of the work of a famous American photographer and for equipment floaters of all kinds.
